Life is like photography, We all develop from the negatives.
First of all, thank you so much for stopping by my blog! Blogs have truly become the wave of the social media/networking future. It's such a wonderful way to stay in touch with clients (past, present AND future) as well as a great way to network with fellow members of the wedding industry. The nice part about a blog for clients is the ability to see up-to-the-minute new work. It's also a more comprehensive and true sampling of what to expect, work-wise, from your photographer.
As far as me personally, I guess we should start at the beginning...I was born in Fort Worth, Texas in the fall of 1976. I spent my childhood there and then moved away for college. I skipped around the metroplex quite a bit (never left Texas!) and settled in Dallas a little over 10 years ago. As far as my photography background, I have loved it for as long as I can remember. I think it probably started as a child, with my polaroid camera, the summer of 1983. In highschool, I was the designated yearbook photographer, I took classes in college and then got my first digital SLR in the winter of 2004, about the time I fell in love with fashion photography. I guess you could say I've been "honing" my craft for about 27 years (give or take). : ) I am currently enrolled at the Art Institute of Dallas as the first student in their brand new BFA Photography program and look to complete my degree within the next two years. I jumped at the chance to further my knowledge of the craft. With photography, you truly never stop learning.
I have a background in fashion and fine-art photography. I am published, have had many exhibitions including 2 solo gallery exhibits, and have won multiple awards in various acclaimed international photography competitions.
What I love to photograph most are people. I get immense satisfaction from not only making a beautiful image, but from the smile it puts on someone's face. The thing I've always found so amazing about photography is that magical ability to freeze time. Every image is a miniature time capsule of a moment that will live with you forever.
I was blessed with a gifted compositional eye and penchant for use of color and light and truly pour my heart and soul into my work and I do believe that it shows. Fueled by my passion for photography and the love for my subjects I look forward to providing you with beautiful, unique images that you and your loved ones will treasure for years to come.
